My phone rang at 5.45am and I answered with my usual “Good Morning” in reply Karen said very calmly to me “I don’t think it’s a good idea for you to wait until 7.30am to come in” and with that I excitedly put my clothes on (inside out… I do that for special occasions) and made my way to the hospital as quickly as possible.
On Friday of last week, time stood still and the world was given another beautiful little someone to treasure. Little Grace Amelia made her way into the loving arms of her mummy and daddy, and I was there to capture her first breath, her first cuddle and to see her mummy, daddy and grandma fall so very in love with her, the second they laid eyes on her.
I think I would have to say that birth photography is definitely up there as a favourite of mine. As a parent meeting your new little babe for the first time is more often than not magical and so very very special. For me personally, being able to document a little one’s arrival but especially provide a dear friend with these memories is a moment in time I will always hold close to my heart.
Thank you Karen and Chris for inviting me to document something so sacred, beautiful and incredibly precious for you both. Darling little Grace, welcome to the world. You were very much loved and adored even before you were born and I know that you are going to have an amazing time growing up with Harrison and William.

Emma, my beautiful friend, there are no words to describe how much this means to me. I have been trying desperately to think of what to say that might tell you exactly how grateful we are to have had you be able to come and photograph Grace’s arrival into the world. There is so much emotion and joy captured in these photographs, which is exactly what was filling the room on her birth day. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
