Anne and Davin’s Wedding – Published in Australian Bride To Be Magazine

Just over a year ago, I worked with Anne from Elegant Event Management and photographed the beautiful wedding that she created when she married her darling Davin at Yangarra Estate at Kangarilla. It is always an incredible honour when someone working within the wedding industry asks you to photograph their wedding and I’m so delighted that this particular wedding is my first publication within Australia Bride To Be Magazine:)If you haven’t already picked up Volume 162, November through to Jan, do yourself a favour and do so. It has some truly beautiful unique weddings amidst it’s glossy pages!

I’m even more excited to be photographing the arrival of Davin and Anne’s first baby over the next few months and can’t believe that I am going to there to document the second life changing moment for them as they welcome into the world their precious little miracle. It really does leave me without words and I just can’t wait!

Melanie & Marc’s sophisticated wedding at The National Wine Centre

Close to a year and a half ago now, I sat down with Melanie and Marc at a cafe to discuss the prospect of me photographing their wedding. I remember distinctly watching this lovely couple walk in and a huge smile plastered across Melanie’s face. She was very happy and very in love.  Melanie and I got stuck into nattering on about all of the things they had planned and were yet to be planned and Marc, he was along for the ride too. We laughed lots, got excited and when we all left, we were buzzing with excitement:)

There was a long passage of time between when Melanie, Marc and I met for coffe and their actual wedding day. I often wonder if the excitement that is always there when I meet a couple for the first time, is still going to be there when the wedding finally comes around. To my delight, it was. It was so wonderful to see Melanie and her girlfriends so excited on Saturday. Melanie just glowed and her friends were just so very happy to be there to help celebrate and get this bride ready for her big day. You could see that there was a clear sisterhood and these girls had a very special bond.

Melanie and I kept in touch during the months between their wedding as I do with all of my brides (sometimes it’s the groom) and when she emailed me through their wedding day information sheet indicating that she had booked nearly every supplier I had ever referred her through to…..I was over the moon.  I knew Melanie and Marc were in good hands and then I gulped…..  This was gong to be one fancy pants wedding with some of Adelaide’s finest wedding vendors and it was going to be up to little old me to do their work justice with my camera! This is what I love about the relationships an rapport I build with my clients as well as the wedding vendors that I work with.  Melanie has said to me a few times “Emma, I trust you” and that meant so much to me:)

Melanie hired a gorgeous private beach house at Henley Beach called “The Promenade”. It is a beautiful modern light filled space right on the beach front. The light was amazing to work with and as Melanie stepped into her Maggie Sottero wedding gown for the first time, we overlooked the calming ocean.

Sam from Fabulous Flowers absolutely outdid herself with the flowers for this wedding. Sam’s work is always incredible and I refer all of my clients through to her but this week, she set the bar at an all time high. I have never ever seen such magnificent flowers.

Mark from Oxygen Hair came to the Promenade and did the girls hair. He did an awesome job and was an absolute scream to work with and the very lovely Lauren Parkinson pampered the girls with flawless makeup.

This was also the first time I worked with Heather and Tom from Empire Video Productions. Their work is incredible and they were so wonderful to work with on the day. They are a refreshing change in the videography world of SA and it’s wonderful to see a modern approach being used by these guys! No cheesy interviews here!

Three white Jags drove the girls to The Monastery on Cross Road where the ceremony was held.  The girls from L’Amour Vocal Ensemble entertained waiting guests. These girls sing like angels and it was hard not to be moved by their music on the day.

Directly following the ceremony we headed to Rymill Park for a short whirl through some creative photography!

The Exhibition Hall at The National Wine Centre was turned into an incredibly glamorous reception room Louis Bond had decked the area out with swanky white upholstered chairs and topiary’s. Sam from Fabulous Functions had filled the tables with a variety of crystal cut and glass vases and Bella from Lil Miss Macaron had painstakingly hand made all of the guest favours. The room was decadently incredible!

This incredible cake was created by Mel from 2Nice2Slice

Melanie and Marc, I hope you enjoyed the rest of your wedding day and celebrated with your family and friends dancing late into the night. Here’s to Paris and all things beautiful. Wishing you both every happiness you so deserve.

Thank you so much for choosing me as your wedding photographer, I had an absolute ball!

Much love

The Wedding of Sara and Dave at Silvestris of Clarendon

I seem to be really blessed with the people I work with.  They all have wonderful personalities and a wicked sense of humour. Sara and Dave are no exception to this statement and I found myself struggling to remain composure behind my camera at some of the antics that took place at their wedding:)I have been sat here for the last few days chuckling and reminiscing about all the funny little things that took place.

I adore working outdoors. For some reason, garden and winery weddings seem to be the type of weddings I attract so I was particularly excited to be working just around the corner at Silvestri’s of Clarendon with this beautiful couple on their wedding day. Silvestri’s is truly a one of a kind venue for weddings. It offers a perfect ceremony location and reception venue all in one. The gardens are kept beautifully and it’s in such a pretty spot.

Sara and Dave had been friends for many years before they “hooked up” and started dating and I honestly think their friendship shines through. They laughed with each other all day long and it was really special to watch their chemistry and the wonderful friendship and love they have together.  They were surrounded by a fabulous bridal party, these guys were lots of fun and made the wedding even more enjoyable…. waves to the clowns:)

Sara, her two gorgeous daughters and bridesmaids hired the Royal Oak Hotetl at Clarendon to prepare for the wedding and were then able to walk to Silvestris! It was a great idea and meant that they weren’t haulled up in a car travelling between locations or stressing about time. Everything was nice and close to each other and it meant that the girls could take their time getting ready and really enjoy the day relaxing, being pampered and enjoying each others company.

When I arrived at Silvestri’s the PA was in full swing with a fabulous assortment of music. Sara’s bridesmaids walked down the aisle to Prettiest Girls by Pharrell and I have never heard this song. It was just gorgeous. After the girls had made their procession a large Guitar rift boomed throughout the formal garden and everyone broke into laughter. It was Jimmy Hendrix’s Foxy Lady! LOL the first few bars of this belted out before turning into Lost In The Moment by Daniel Lee Kendall.  Dave has this deadpan sense of humour so as all of the above was happening, he was able to maintain composure throughout all this and watched as Sara made her way up the garden. It was the best thing ever! LOL

There always seems to be a moment throughout the day when the bride catches her breath and just exhales.

I love bubbles, everyone does but over the years I have realised that it seems to be the boys who love blowing the bubbles more so at weddings:)

I was talking about that sense of humour Dave has = this is what Dave did when I asked him to look at Sara! LOL

Dave has a “unique” relationship with his groomsmen… LOL

Love this face!

The main dinging room at Silvestri’s is a beautiful light filled space, just adored it!

Dave’s mum made the wedding cake, even down to the little hand made sugar flowers and basket on top!

Sara and Dave, thank you for allowing me to laugh with you on your wedding day. I hope you had a gorgeous honeymoon and time away to relax and enjoy your newly established family. I wish you every happiness that you both deserve and lots and lots of babies! God knows the world needs lots of little Dave’s running around:)

Much love

Beautiful work as always! Lovely x

Stephanie and Guido’s beautiful Bird In Hand Wedding

Every now and then, fairy tales do come true.

I’m really fortunate to do something that I love and to work with people who let me celebrate with them, some of the most important, life changing moments in their lives. This is something that continuously blows me away and something that leaves me in complete awe.

I received an email from Stephanie in May of this year, close to one month after our little Mason arrived. Stephanie was having problems finding a photographer for her wedding in October of this year and had been given my details from Jodi Nash, Editor of South Australian Style Magazine. I have been so fortunate and beyond thrilled to have some of my weddings published in SA Style. Jodi is an incredibly talented makeup artist, business woman AND insane photographer and the fact that she had sent one of her friends my way, left me speechless… my friends, me speechless doesn’t happen very often! Jodi, again, thank you so much.

Stephanie’s email was so lovely that I replied and told her that despite being booked for the remainder of this year for weddings, I simply just couldn’t say not to her. I had such a good feeling about this couple. I wanted to work with them and be there to photograph their wedding, if they would have me. Little did I know at the time that this particular couple would fill my heart with the absolute joy that they did and re-energise my love and passion for photography the way that they have.

Stephanie and Guido met four years ago when Stephanie used to frequent the local Café where Guido worked. Guido made Stephanie her daily coffee for 12 months before they lost contact. It wasn’t for another 12 months after this that Stephanie decided to pop in and see Guido in his new business when the couple started dating and as Stephanie says “The rest is history”.

I met with Stephanie and Guido a few weeks ago and I’m not sure who was more excited about the catch up Stephanie or me LOL. We ran through all of the gorgeous plans they had made for their wedding day and at one point, we were all that emotional about their upcoming wedding, we were all crying! To an outsider, it must have looked absolutely hilarious.

Stephanie, her sisters and her mother prepared for the wedding day at Apple Tree Cottage at Oakbank. I don’t think there has ever been another property that has made me want to move into the Adelaide Hills So much.  Stephanie’s makeup was done by Natasha from Paint Makeup School and it was absolutely flawless. The girls hair was done by Elizabeth Hines and wait for it……. Stephanie wore gorgeous Christian Loubouton Shoes AND the most beautiful wedding gown I have ever laid eyes on.  A stunning gown created by Livia Loren. The wedding theme was “Tiffany” I was in stylish wedding heaven!

Stephanie and Guido decided to do what we call a “first look”. It’s when the bride and groom meet in private prior to their wedding ceremony, without anyone else and share what can only be described as a magical intimate moment between a bride and groom on their wedding day. All of my couples who have done this have adored it and I have to say, so have I. I think the below images convey much more than what my rambling will ever be able to, so I’ll let them do the talking.

Both ceremony and wedding reception were held on the grounds of Bird In Hand Winery and they decided to do their first look here also. We found a quite little spot down by the damn and Stephanie in her finery, bless her darling heart, battled through a swampy paddock to walk into the arms of her Guido.

I don’t think I will ever forget photographing Stephanie walk down the aisle towards Guido. It was so full of emotion.

Stephanie and Guido it was heartwarming to watch you both adore one another so much. I hope that your life is filled with as much joy and love that you shared with each other on your wedding day and I wish for all of my brides and grooms that they have the kind of love that you guys have. I know that it’s rare. It’s the kind of love I have for my beautiful husband:)

Much love

You are an artist girl as well as a beautiful lady who can turn a moment into a lasting, beautiful memory. As ‘mother of the bride’, I am deeply moved by every photo but also having met you and the way you became an important part of the wedding. The Wedding of Sara and Daniel – Adelaide Hills

I’m baaaack! It feels weird to be sitting here typing out a blog post. I just can’t believe that the last six months have whooshed on by as quickly as they have, it’s all very heartbreaking but a timely reminder that time just doesn’t stop for anyone!

Last weekend saw me shaking off more than a few cobwebs as I climbed somewhat gingerly back into the “photography saddle” and photographed my first wedding for the 2012 – 2013 wedding season! The weather was nice and overcast, just the way I like it. Absolutely perfect for wedding photography:)

I have known Sara for what seems like forever. We went to the same high school and she is a close family friend of one of my besties Peg. It was a real honour when Sara asked me two years ago to photograph her and Daniels wedding and I couldn’t wait to see what this gorgeous girl had up her sleeve….. I knew the day would be fun. I also knew that the love that Sara and Daniel have for one another would be beautiful to watch unfold on their wedding day.

Sara and her gorgeous friends Sherri and Kylie prepared for the wedding at the Sebel on North Tce and there was a distinct cherry vibe happening!

Many moons ago (actually I think it was in July of this  year) Sara said to me “Emma, I just want some really fun creative stuff”.  Sara, I’m not sure if this is what you meant by “fun creative stuff” but how’s about we go with smokin hot???

Special shout outs to Rosco and Di who raised the roof on Sunday! Can I get a whoop whoop!

Sara and Daniel had many special people looking down on them on Sunday. One special little angel even had words with the weather gods.

The amazing wedding cake created by Sara’s Aunty Pauline!

I hope you both had an incredible day and danced your hearts out! Have the best time on your honeymoon and can’t wait to catch up when you return home:)

Much love
