Laura and Al met whilst attending university. They didn’t go to the same Uni but some how their paths crossed, I guess you could say fate stepped in and a friendship based on a mutual respect for music developed.
During the planning stages for her wedding, Laura developed quite a love for Style Me Pretty blog, Etsy and online wedding planning! This girl has the Internet down pat and managed to pull together most things for her wedding online! The beautiful personalised touches that Laura incorporated into her wedding day were just gorgeous and I definitely think all of her online researching paid off! She put together one sophisticated, stylish and gorgeous wedding!
Laura and Al both prepared for their wedding at Longview Estate in Macclesfield where both their ceremony and reception were held. I adore Longview, the setting is picturesque, the accommodation there is boutique, the service is wonderful, the food amazing and the atmosphere and view are just sublime. It really is one of my most favourite wedding destinations in SA.
Al was delighted to see me!

And then I headed down to the homestead where Laura and her dear friend Wendy were getting all gussied up! Now I have to give Wendy a shout out for being such a wonderful help to Laura on her wedding day. This little chicky arrived with gourmet picnic baskets so that the newly weds were fed and full throughout the day and did absolutely everything that Laura (or I) asked of her. I commented on the day that I wanted to take her to every wedding with me as I sincerely feel that every bride should have a “Wendy” on her wedding day.
Personalised stationery with hand drawn characters of Laura and Al were made by a supplier on Etsy.

Remember I said that Laura planned EVERYTHING online well, this included her gorgeous lace wedding gown! It was divine!

I’ll be jiggered if Laura doesn’t win photographic face of the year! She is just a dream to photograph a DREAM!

Sam from Fabulous Functions created the gorgeous David Austin Bridal Bouquet and corsages! Sam’s work is incredible and I sincerely recommend her to all of my clients! I just can’t speak highly enough of what she does.

Laura and Al wanted to enjoy their time with their guest at their wedding and opted for a first look to help maximise their photographic coverage but minimise the length of time they had between the ceremony and reception. A first look can be such an incredibly romantic experience. When you strip all the fuss and pomp of a wedding back, the real meaning of the day is the commitment that two people, in love are making to one another, this is then celebrated with loved ones. BUT with all the bussiness of the day, you often find that the newlyweds don’t really get to spend much time with each other at all. Meeting in private prior to the ceremony provides a bride and groom a chance to actually spend some time with each other, just appreciating each other and the significance that is their wedding day. I will say it time and time again, I love it when couples meet in private and get to spend that quality time with each other on their wedding day. It is just so special.

The grape vines were full of bright yellow leaves and they made a spectacular backdrop for the creative wedding photography! Autumn may well become my most favourite season to photograph weddings!

May every corner you turn bring you both much happiness. I can’t possibly tell you how much I enjoyed your wedding! Thank you for choosing me as your wedding photographer.
I was given strict instructions to not put a certain photo up… not sure which one! But couldn’t possibly finish this post off without a photo of moi!!! I never have my photo taken at weddings, so imagine my surprise when I saw a funky little photobooth setup with fabulous props AND a mirror! LOL

Much love
