Dem and Johnny’s wedding was my first wedding back in the shooting saddle and not only was I incredibly nervous about leaving Mitchell for the first time, I was a bit frazzled about the fact that I may have actually forgotten what to do after taking extended time off! LOL. Lucky for me, this was the type of wedding which easily transported me back into wedding mode. Johnny and Dem are so much fun to be around, there wedding was relaxed and stylish and Dem had put everything together with a sophisticated flair! I was in love with all things rustic, David Austin and pretty! It was very easy for me to fall back into the swing of things and soak up all the wedding-y goodness!
Dem and Johnny are childhood sweethearts, meeting in high school in year ten. Dem’s aunt (who married the couple) joked that Johnny stayed behind a year just so that he could be in Dem’s year at school
. I think Johnny’s proposal was as romantic as his retun to year 10 when the day after attending a friends wedding in QLD, he chartered a private plane to fly Dem to Whitehaven Beach and popped the question with a bottle of Dem’s favourite champagne, which he carried all the way from Adelaide! Naw!
Dem and Johnny’s stationery range were created by Beanstalk Creative & Production, I <3 them!

Dem’s dress is a one of a kind, designed by herself and created by Cinderella Bridal on King William Road at Goodwood. It was GORGEOUS!

Dem carried a bouquet of soft pink and apricot David Austin roses, Dusty Miller and Lisianthus created by Fabulous Functions whilst the girls all wore gorgeous wrist corsages.

The girls makeup was by Gabrielle Boulton Makeup Artist and as always was just perfect.

Both the ceremony and reception were held at Longview Vineyard at Macclesfield. Dem received a phone call amidst preparations on the day to let her know that it was raining and that it would probably be best to move the ceremony area under the veranda. Dem was devastated that they weren’t able to have the outdoor ceremony that they had their hearts set on but I think the decision to bring everything into the main building (a converted Dairy) was the best thing. The couple were married overlooking the gorgeous vineyard in the comfort of indoors and under fairy lights where there was plenty of room for their guests and gorgeous light billowing in through the picture windows. Longview is one of my favourite South Australian wedding venues, the location is dreamy and the service is absolutely fabulous and this is why it always ranks very high on my list of preferred and recommended wedding locations in SA. The fact that their function manager was prepared to move the ceremony set up from the veranda (on my recommendation 45 minutes prior to the scheduled ceremony start time) to inside the main building is testament to their high level of customer service they provide. At the end of the day, the most important thing should be the delight of the bride and groom!
The most incredible ivory rose petal aisle I have ever seen!

There was a short break in the weather, so whilst guests mingled under the verandah enjoying tapas, Drinks in hand, I grabbed Dem and Johnny for some creative photography in the vineyard.
Sidenote, I tell all of my couples that overcast days are the PERFECT type of weather for weddings. It creates dreamy even lighting, no squint eye or running makeup and no one suffers through the heat. Overcast days are my favourite! We usually have such hot and glaringly bright summers in Australia, it’s really important to give your wedding day timing big consideration to avoid the harshest parts of the days, your photos will thank you for it and it is something that every wedding photographer should give their clients advice on.

Huge thumbs up to Miss Tilly who is positively the most incredibly beautiful and charming little flower girl I have ever worked with. I think I have decided that Tilly and Lachlan (my little three year old) can in fact marry one day AND a huge congratulations to Sam, Tilly’s mum, who just two weeks ago gave birth to the most precious little man. YEP, you read right, two weeks ago and she’s slipped into a gorgeous swanky little black number and heals for her sisters wedding. Hats off honey, you look incredible!

Funniest family photos ever……… LOL

For anyone who has read the “About Me” section of my site, knows that there is a special mention and homage to ice cream…… imagine my delight when a pink Mr Whippy Ice Cream Van rolled up to delight guests with ice cream as a special treat……. you can then imagine my disappointment of not being able to enjoy a soft serve icec ream due to being pregnant and then my further disappointment when editing this image only to note that Mr Noddy himself was dishing up SCOOPED ICE CREAM! SOB LOL

Assorted floral arrangements combined with glass and crystalware adorned doily covered tables throughout the reception area.

Dem and Johnny, thank you for allowing me to document your wedding day celebrations, I had an absolute blast! You looked like you were having the time of your lives and I really hope that your wedding day turned out to be the successful event you spent so much time planning. You are both so much fun, I wish you every happiness that life can bring. Keep on laughing guys, you rock!
