2012 Wedding Season Wrap Up

It seems rather peculiar to be sitting here, mid way through February tapping away at the keyboard as I reflect on the beautiful year that was 2012 :) none the less I am and I’m going with the notion that it’s nice to start the new year off with a reflective post highlighting some of the gorgeous Adelaide Weddings I was able lucky enough to be a part of.

So without further ado, here are some of my favourite images and moments from last year.

Jenn and Mark, married at The Beach Huts at Middleton, January 2012

You can view their full wedding blog post here

Catherine and John who have now welcomed a beautiful little girl into their family were married at Al Ru farm in January too.

Dem and Johnny, married at Longview Winery in the Adelaide Hills. The sky was overcast, it rained just a tiny bit but it was just perfect weather for wedding photography! Their wedding I believe was the first ever indoor wedding reception at Longview and I have to say, it was the perfect spot, overlooking the vineyard as it drizzled!

Demelza and Johnny

Carly and Stephen…. be still my heart! This insanely wonderful couple were married at one of my all time South Australian Wedding venues, Kingsbrook Estate. At the time, I was heavily pregnant (as was their celebrant Bronwyn Lyndsay from Celebrants of Adelaide) and it was a lovely cool 43 degrees!!!!! Yes that’s right, 43 degrees! However, I don’t think Carly broke into a sweat all day and to date, I still look back on this wedding so fondly. Maybe it’s because they fed me cake, I don’t know but there is just something so beautiful about this couple.

Janelle and Troy held their gorgeous wedding in the Adelaide CBD. Janelle has wedding planning down to a fine art!

Their wedding was also published in Adelaide Matters!

Brooke and Brad’s wedding at Kingsbrook Estate were my last couple I photographed before heading off into the world of newborn baby-ness-

In April, we welcomed with the happiest of hearts our third little boy, Mason. He is now 9 months old, shuffles around on his tummy and can’t wait to be up and running with his two older brothers. He is the cheekiest, happiest little man and he brings us so much joy.

A lifelong dream of mine was to have one of our births documented and we were so very lucky to have Karen Pfeiffer document Mason’s arrival. I documented the arrival of her little girl Grace the year prior to Mason’s arrival and it was really special to share for us all to be able to share in this day. Even though I have documented a number of births now and truly do believe this is the most important type of life documentary there is (more people really should have it done) until I had one of my own children’s arrival documented, I really didn’t realise just how precious this is. You can view a slideshow Mason’s arrival here as well as our beautiful pregnancy and newborn images. Karen is truly amazing and has captured for us so many of our most sacred and precious life moments :)

My first wedding back was the wedding of Sara and Daniel who were married at Glen Ewin Estate in the Adelaide Hills. I have known Sara for a long time now and it was an absolute honour to be trusted with her wedding photos :)

Then Sara and Dave’s very stylish wedding at Silvestri’s of Clarendon.

Sara and David

Stephanie and Guido at Bird in Hand…. ah there was something so magical about the way Guido looked at Stephanie and she him. I think these guys take the title of most romantic couple. Together they just ooze “in love” they were such a delight to work with!

Melanie and Marc’s lovely Adelaide CBD wedding followed. This wedding was filled to the brim with beautiful soft pink detail. It was heavenly. These guys were just so relaxed and happy.

Kellie and Julian at Golding Winery. What can I say other than WOW! I have had so much feedback and comments regarding the incredibleness that took place on their wedding day. As a wedding photographer, all you want is a genuinely in love couple to work with. Throw in a happy and fabulous bridal party and your on the home stretch to some amazing photos but when the bride happens to be the stylist for a gorgeous event styling company such as Emkho A Creative Collective, things are getting a bit exciting!

Kellie and Julian’s wedding can be viewed here as well as on Mag Rouge, one of the worlds most beautiful wedding blogs. Keep your eyes peeled also to see this darling wedding featured in a soon to be released beautiful wedding magazine! Much bubbly excitement happening!!

Kellie and Julian

Renae and Clint. Insert the groom arriving in a helicopter, Renae being one of the owners of the gorgeous florist shop Buds and Blooms AND them having both their ceremony and reception on their own private estate in the heart of Mclaren Vale! Their day was gorgeous and their full blog post can be viewed here  :)

Renae and Clint

Elise and Scott, I smile from ear to ear every time I think of them.  Elise and I had a special connection and we emailed and discussed absolutely every detail of their wedding, even down to shoes and gumboots :) These guys held their ceremony at The Lazy Ballerina Winery down at Kuitpo and then their reception in a private vineyard at Willunga. The light for their creative photography was just gorgeous and all we used were a few cows as props (no that is not a typo) and their own private property at Mount Compass :)

Danielle and Damian were married at Stangate House in the Adelaide Hills. I don’t think I have ever seen a bride be so clever with craft and determined to create such a magical atmosphere for their wedding. Danielle single handily created a beautiful fairytale like garden setting at Stangate House with lanterns, flowers, rose petals and the most gorgeous hand painted signs. She is incredible and the way these two adore each other is something I wish for all of my couples. They were certainly the icing on the cake as my last wedding for 2012.

I feel so honoured and blessed to have worked with such amazing couples last year. It bought with it so many career highs for me and so many fond memories.  I’m beyond thrilled to get this year underway and begin documenting more beautiful moments for this years brides and grooms! I can’t wait!

Much love
